Bolivar Real Estate
Bolivar is located 15 minutes south of Canton in Tuscarawas County. This quaint village offers well established neighborhoods and easy access to Route 212, and major interstate highways including I-77.
Bolivar is home to the only American Revolutionary War-era fort in Ohio – Fort Laurens, named in honor of Henry Laurens, then president of the Continental Congress. This was the site of a British siege where 21 American soldiers lost their lives. The Fort Laurens Museum houses many artifacts. Reenactments and other events are held throughout the year.
Keeping with its history, buildings downtown have been restored to their former glory and towpaths have been rejuvenated as walking/biking paths.
